The National Auto & Truck Museum offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity for volunteers. This is the place to share our love of cars and history with people from all over the nation. Volunteer with us and you’ll join a fun team. As a non-profit, we rely on a lot of great volunteers and you’ll spend your time helping care for our incredible collection and National Historic Buildings.

Logging over 8,000 hours annually, volunteers at the National Auto & Truck Museum help fulfill our mission by assisting with these fun and rewarding tasks such as:

Admissions:  Depending upon background and interests such tasks include; helping in the gift shop, answering phone calls, helping with mailings and janitorial services.

Docent: A docent is the title given to those volunteers that work on the floor of the museum and interact with the public.  They greet our guests, make them welcome and are available to answer questions about displays in the museum. A tour docent has additional training with handling tour groups. In order to provide a more in depth experience for our guests.

Restoration Shop:  Our restoration shop volunteers have a varied level of experience, from expert mechanic to those with no experience but a true willingness to learn and apply labor to a project. The projects include working on vehicles in our collections.

Event Volunteers: Volunteers will help with the set up and tear down of tables and chairs for events.

Research Library: The materials in our library are comprised of information on nearly every motorcar can be researched in our Automotive Library, located in the upper Service Building. From the Austin to a Zephyr, they are all here. Volunteers are needed to help in the ongoing process of improving our Museum Research Library.
